Lauren Ruotolo is an award-winning content and communications executive, disability and women’s health advocate, and author who has spent over two decades driving innovation and inclusion across the healthcare, media, and lifestyle industries. With a career spanning Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and cultural institutions, Ruotolo has built her reputation on shaping narratives that inspire, influence, and create a measurable impact.

As a senior leader, Ruotolo has directed global campaigns, scaled social media strategies, and launched original content that has reached millions worldwide. She blends creativity with data-driven insights and AI-powered tools to deliver communications that move both brands and audiences forward. Her professional expertise is matched by her personal advocacy, rooted in her lived experience with the rare disease McCune-Albright Syndrome, which has uniquely shaped her voice and mission as a change-maker.

Career in Content, Social Media, and Communications

Recently, Ruotolo was hired by Cure's first CEO, a New York City–based life science incubator, to help establish the organization’s brand and digital storytelling presence as part of its inaugural team. As Senior Content & Social Media Partnership Advisor, she led the digital overhaul of the incubator’s social media, video, and event strategies. Under her guidance, Cure’s digital reach increased by 350% through targeted content and an AI-informed social strategy.
She produced over 100 live digital shows and 75 impactful video reels, led partnerships, and developed and launched a content plan for Cure’s first “Power of X” Women’s Health Summit, which resulted in a 54% increase in social engagement.

Before joining Cure, Ruotolo held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson, where she led the enterprise-wide video and social media strategy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she produced “The Road to a Vaccine” with journalist Lisa Ling, an award-winning global series that garnered over 155 million views and 1.5 billion press impressions. She also managed a multimillion-dollar production and partnership budget, created J&J’s first-ever World Economic Forum Davos campaign, which generated 350,000 social views, and developed an employee content-sharing platform that boosted J&J’s corporate brand lift by 130% year-over-year, contributing to double- digit growth in recruitment.

Earlier in her career, Ruotolo served as Director of Marketing & Entertainment Promotions at Hearst Magazines, where she developed high-profile magazine editorial campaigns in collaboration with CBS, Discovery, Sony Music, and YouTube, and created original branded content that generated millions in new revenue at newsstands, as well as launching Seventeen’s YouTube MCN.
She also held senior marketing roles at DanceOn Network and TV Guide, where she spearheaded entertainment partnerships, expanded digital reach, and oversaw some of the first digital-to-print integrations in the media industry.

Advocacy in Disability and Women’s Health

Beyond her corporate success, Ruotolo has dedicated her platform to advocacy. Born with McCune-Albright Syndrome, she experienced a precocious period at just nine months old and menopause at age eight. These early and challenging health experiences shaped her lifelong mission to advocate in DC, and globally for the disability and rare disease community, but also for women’s health equity, where she serves as a patient advocate with the Women’s Health Advocates.

She is the co-founder of We Are Invincible, a digital media and events platform that elevates stories of people with disabilities, making the invisible visible. Through this initiative and her broader advocacy work, Ruotolo amplifies the voices of underrepresented communities and pushes for systemic change in both healthcare and media.

Her book, Unstoppable in Stilettos, further cemented her role as an inspirational voice, offering readers a personal and empowering perspective on resilience, confidence, and self-advocacy. She has been recognized with numerous honors, including the James Burke Marketing Award at Johnson & Johnson, Innovator of the Year by WIN Forum NY, and being named NOIAW Woman of the Year.

A Voice for Impact and Inclusion

Ruotolo is also a sought-after keynote speaker, panelist, and media voice on topics spanning digital storytelling, disability rights, women’s health, and inclusive leadership. Whether she’s producing global campaigns, advising Fortune 500 executives, or speaking to a room of emerging leaders, Ruotolo’s message remains the same: innovation and inclusion go han
